Light Painting, Portraiture, and Trolleys, Oh My!

When Milford Photo announced their annual Shoreline Trolley Twilight Shoot, I wasn't sure what to expect, other than being able to play with light painting at night.

Painting with Light...

My youngest came along so she could practice a little with her camera, and get some good shots for her art class. Mostly, I just took advantage of being able to take some portraits of her in her element.

You and I remember Budapest very differently...

Speaking of portraits, Clay, our conductor for the evening, was extremely patient with the horde of photographers, and even posed for an impromptu phot shoot.

We stayed late into the night, and played with light painting, and even convinced the conductors to move the trolleys up and down the tracks so we can try a few things.

They called him the streak...

Connecticut ComiConn

While I thought Lisa Phalstaf as Ghost Rider was the best Cosplay of the weekend at Connecticut ComiConn, she was hardly the only outstanding cosplayer. There were so many amazing cosplayers at Mohegan Sun this past weekend.

Saraphina Cosplay portrays Queen Mera from Aquaman New 52, DC Comics.

You can see more of Saraphina on her facebook page at:

Even KISS made an appearance:

That maniacal laughter echoing through the halls of the convention center? Yeah, it was the Joker

The Joker has a really big gun..

The Joker wasn't the only one of Batman's foes to show up on the scene - this Penguin was an inspired cosplay:

Doctor Who? We had a few....

There a lot of amazing cosplayers at Connecticut ComiConn at Mohegan Sun this past weekend. Easily the best of the bunch was Lisa Phalstaf as Ghost Rider. the amount of detail and creativity here is just amazing.

Met up with the gang at Milford Photo a few nights ago, and had a great photo shoot down by Gulf Beach. We were testing out using light discs, and as usual with an outing like this, you don't know what you will come across.

My best image of the night without using any of the light discs Jesse from Milford Photo brought. Nadine positioned herself on the rocks, and with the setting sun hitting her just right, I snapped a few shots:

Many thanks to Jesse for all of the work he does to make these meetups successful, and to Nadine, who was patient and a real pro throughout.

More photos are here in my album on flickr.

Lime Rock Park

I went to Lime Rock Park this weekend for the first time. It was loud, and a lot of fun. I have never tried panning to any degree, and was pleasantly surprised by my results

The IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Series was the first race...

After the first race, we headed to the middle of the infield to check out some beautiful cars:

Michael Conforto

It just occurred to me that I haven't shot anything sports related in almost 3 months. I finally had the opportunity to go up to New Britain and see the Binghamton Mets play against the New Britain Rock Cats.

The vast majority of Met fans are calling for the Mets to bring up Michael Conforto to the Major League Club - Conforto is arguably the best pure hitter in the system, and is doing very well at Double-A. With Michael Cuddyer hurting, and expected to land on the DL, the hope is that Conforto is called up to fill his spot.

Signing Autographs

Conforto went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored in Binghamton's 3-2 victory over New Britain Monday night. Even his outs were well-hit, driving the center fielder to the wall each time.

Working The Runway

One more of Sarita working the runway at our Paparazzi Shoot.

This is my good side...
